Green Valley Veterinary Hospital is a full service companion animal facility located near the Butler/Beaver County line on Route 68 between Rochester and Zelienople, PA. At Green Valley, we understand the important role pets play in our clients'™ lives and strive to nurture that special bond through client education/service and ever-improving patient care. Our veterinarians and veterinary nurses strive to educate our clients on the latest information available to improve patient care. We take continuing education seriously and pursue numerous courses per year while also offering longer than average appointment slots to discuss pet issues with our clients.

    Maureen A. McElhinny, VMD


    A 1991 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. McElhinny is the owner of Green Valley Veterinary Hospital. She has practiced at Green Valley (formally Kaufman Veterinary Clinic) since her graduation and in 2007 expanded her role to practice owner.

    Dr. McElhinny enjoys the medical and surgical variety provided by general practice and continually strives to be on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine by keeping her hospital supplied with the latest technology. In addition, she is a firm advocate of her team members upgrading their skills and knowledge through ongoing continuing education classes both locally and nationally. Her special interests include dermatology, endocrinology, preventive medicine, and senior pet care.

    Dr. McElhinny is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the Western Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (WPVMA).

    She feels fortunate to be part of this truly amazing profession. Every day brings new challenges, and the chance to help her patients improve their quality of life with their human family members.

  • Kristin K. Burton-Hall, VMD

    Kristin K. Burton-Hall, VMD


    A native of Beaver County, Dr. Burton-Hall graduated from Riverside High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Geneva College in Beaver Falls. In 2003, she received her veterinary doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

    After veterinary school she returned to Green Valley Veterinary Hospital (then Kaufman Veterinary Clinic). She had originally started working for Dr. Kaufman as a kennel attendant in 1994. She continued to work as a veterinary assistant during college and summers in between veterinary classes.

    Dr. Burton-Hall is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), the Western Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (WPVMA), and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

    Her special interests include laser surgery, behavioral medicine, senior care, pre-adoption/new adoption counseling, and pain management.

    She enjoys the rural area with her husband George, daughters and son, two cats and Newfoundland dog. She also likes to garden and camp in her free time.

  • Jonathan Dohanich, DVM

    Jonathan Dohanich, DVM


    A native of Beaver County, Dr. Dohanich originally hails from Center Township. He graduated from Center High School (now Central Valley) in 1996. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Penn State University in 2000 before completing his veterinary doctorate at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2008.

    Dr. Dohanich shares Green Valley's core philosophy that client communication is crucial for the health and wellness of patients. His professional interests include client education, dentistry, nutrition, anesthesia and sedation, and zoonoses (diseases that can be transmitted from animals to people). Furthermore, he enjoys volunteering his professional skills in Haiti 1-2 times a year helping to train veterinary students and newly minted veterinarians.
    Dr. Dohanich met his wife Leanna in veterinary school. She is also a veterinarian and practices in Beaver County. They have one son named Jarren who is three years old. Their furry family members include Ruby - a 10-year old Border Collie - and Annie - a 9-year old tortoise shell colored cat. Dr. Dohanich enjoys playing ice hockey and spending time outdoors.

    Laure Morski, Office Manager


    After receiving her bachelor of science degree in biology from Ohio University, Laure joined the Kaufman Veterinary Team in 1981. Twenty-six years later, she saw the transition to Green Valley Veterinary Hospital where she became the office manager in 2007. Enjoying her long time passion of helping animals, she brings many years of experience to the veterinary field. Whether it is assisting in surgery and patient appointments or as your receptionist, you will find her in all aspects of the hospital. She is the proud mother of two sons, one serving in the United States Army and the other pursuing a career in law enforcement. She resides in Economy Borough with her husband Joe and a German Shepherd named Gunner.

    Renee Giallorenzo, Accounts Receivable


    Renee joined Kaufman Veterinary Clinic in 2002 and has had the pleasure to experience the transition to Green Valley Veterinary Hospital.  Years of cross training has allowed her to enjoy all aspects of client service from receptionist to assisting in surgery. 

    Renee's favorite part of veterinary medicine is client education and assisting with patient examinations.  She resides in Ellwood City with her fiance and three sons.  Renee's extended family includes her Great Dane, Nevaeh and four cats: Timmy, Tigger, Trixie and La-Fawn-Dah.

    Kristie Fassett


    Kristie joined Kaufman Veterinary Clinic in 1992 after completing the Veterinary Assistant program at the Median School (now known as The Vet Tech Institute) in Pittsburgh.  She witnessed the transition to Green Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2007 and feels honored to be one of the senior technicians in the practice. 

    She is a native of New Sewickley where she resides with her husband and orange tabby cat, Sonny.  Kristie enjoys the hands-on aspect of her job and the personal relationships she is able to form with the clients.

    Amy Brenneman, CVT


    Amy graduated from Sanford Brown Institute, formerly known as Western School of Health and Business in February 2004. After graduation, she began working as a technician for Kaufman Veterinary Clinic and has seen the transition to Green Valley Veterinary Hospital. Amy enjoys nourishing the human-animal bond and meeting all the hospital’s furry friends and their owners.  When she is not at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter, 2 dogs: Rodeo and Blue, and her horses.

    Missy Roehling, CVT, Inventory Manager


    After obtaining a bachelor of science in environmental science from Penn State University, Missy realized her true calling was in veterinary medicine. She spent two years in New York City at a rehabilitation center performing massage and hydrotherapy on dogs before returning to the area.

    She obtained her veterinary technical degree from The Vet Tech Institute and became a licensed technician in January of 2005.  Missy joined Green Valley's team in August of 2008 and has been a full-time member since January 2010.  She lives in her home town of Zelienople with her husband Eric and two crazy cats, Rudy and Isabel.

    Chelsea Meehan, Surgical Supervisor


    Chelsea graduated with Associate Degree in Specialized Technology from The Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, PA.  She graduated in 2008 but has had experience with our animal friends since the age of 6.  She was involved in the Thundering Hooves 4-H Club for 11 years, and the Beaver County Stockman's Club for 3 years.  She also managed a large equine facility where she trained a number of horses and gave riding and therapeutic lessons.  She joined the team at Green Valley Veterinary Hospital in March of 2009.  She loves working with the team and plans to be around for a long time. She currently supervises the operating room at the practice.

    At home she has 2 dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and a horse.  She truly loves her animals and treats yours with all the love she gives her own!

    Nikki Bedekovich


    Nikki has been a veterinary assistant for over 15 years. She completed a veterinary technician program at the Median School (now known as the Vet Tech Institute) in 1995. She began her career saving and protecting endangered species including large predatory cats at a non-profit wildlife sanctuary in Pittsboro, NC. Nikki joined our team in the summer of 2009 and has specials interests in animal behavior, surgery, dentistry, and emergency care. She enjoys spending time with her husband Scott, four dogs named Dorian, Valek, Teá, and Rocco, and an American fat-tailed ghecko named Angel.

    Brittany Lang


    Brittany graduated from The Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in May 2009.  She joined the team at Green Valley Veterinary Hospital in November 2009.  She enjoys working with the staff, meeting the furry friends and their owners, and continuing to expand her knowledge of veterinary medicine. 

    Outside of the Hospital, Brittany enjoys spending time with her daughter and puppy, Rudy.

    Amy graduated from Kent State University in 2008 with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and completed her veterinary technical training at The Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in June 2011. She joined the team at Green Valley Veterinary Hospital in August 2011. She enjoys continuing to expand her knowledge of veterinary medicine. Outside of the hospital, Amy enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs and 2 cats as well as volunteering her time to help shelter animals.
